  • (2025. 08.) Hosted the APEC 2025 Women in STEM Symposium
    Hosted a symposium aimed at strengthening networks among women in STEM across the Asia-Pacific region and expanding international cooperation; shared Korea’s support policies and achievements for women in STEM on the global stage
  • (2023.11.) Celebrated the 10th Anniversary of WISET & Hosted the 2023 Korea Women in STEM Convention
    Organized a major joint event bringing together related organizations and institutions to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the foundation, strengthening solidarity and cooperation among women in STEM

2022. 11.Inauguration of Moon Aree as the 4th President of WISET
  • (2021. 03.) Launched W Bridge, a platform for women in STEM to achieve growth
    Established an online platform supporting women in STEM through all career stages—from primary/secondary education to senior professionals—creating a tailored support system with enhanced accessibility in the contactless era
  • (2021. 06.) Established the policy research center
    Internalized empirical research and data-driven policy analysis capabilities regarding women in STEM, strengthening WISET's role as a policy think tank
2021. 06.Changed the name of the organization to “Korea Foundation for Women In Science, Engineering and Technology (WISET)”
Strengthened its role from a project/program-oriented organization to a policy-leading organization in order to implement proactive response measures in line with the trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution

    Introduced and initiated public discourse in Korea for the first time on the concept of 'Gendered Innovations,' which integrates gender analysis into STEM research

2013. 01.Incorporation of WISET as a Public Foundation (Founding President: Hye-sook Lee)
Re-established as a non-profit public foundation to enhance the independence of national policy projects and realize a long-term vision, stepping up as a comprehensive support institution for women in STEM
  • (2012). Launched the Regional Project for Fostering Women in Science and Engineering (R-WeSET)
    Established a collaborative network with project groups across 5 major regions nationwide, building a foundation to cultivate regional female talent tailored to local characteristics. (Currently operating R-WeSET 2.0)

2011. 01.Launch of the Korea Center for Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology
Integrated various programs concerning women in STEM (WISE, WATCH21, WIST, WIF) that had been implemented separately from 2001 to 2010, laying the initial groundwork as an organization dedicated to supporting women in STEM
2002. 12.Enactment of the Act on Fostering and Supporting Women Scientists and Technicians (Legal basis for foundation establishment)
Established the legal framework for policies aimed at fostering and supporting women in STEM, laying the groundwork for the future establishment of a dedicated institution and systematic support initiatives
